We were fortunate to celebrate Father's Day with four generations of MacPhee men yesterday. What a privilege to witness a heritage of love, hard work, creativity, strength and leadership. I do not list these characteristics lightly, but with as much sincerity as I can possibly convey. I spent the last few days watching and listening to stories of generations of MacPhee men: the Scotsmen, the Highwaymen, the Farmers, the Engineers, the Architects, the War Heroes, the Fathers, the Survivors, the Self-Sufficient, the Self-Taught, the good ones and the bad ones. History is a gift and stories are our heritage, to learn from, to treasure and to protect. I'm blessed to be reminded of these things and honored that my Little Man will share this heritage, these stories, and these features as a MacPhee man.
Happy late Father's Day to all the Fathers, Grandfathers, and Great-Grandfathers out there.
